The Cobar Sound Chapel is a permanent sound installation artwork located in Cobar. It was completed in early 2022 and is a creation by composer / sound artist Georges Lentz in collaboration with architect Glenn Murcutt. The Cobar Sound Chapel is an intimate sound space, a marriage of music, architecture, art, poetry, light and nature.

The Cobar Sound Chapel experience is located on a road which is unsealed and may therefore be subject to adverse weather conditions.
There are no toilet facilities located at this attraction site.
Bookings
Before arriving into Cobar, contact the Visitor Information Centre to check availability and book a time slot into this experience for the date of your visit.
The Cobar Sound Chapel has locked gates at all times. . Upon your arrival into town, please pick up the key from The Great Cobar Museum during business hours. Access is free, but we do ask visitors to leave a copy of ID and a $100 cash bond, which will be returned to you in full upon returning the key. We look after this attraction on behalf of the creators and we thank you for your understanding of our process to allow visitors to enjoy it.
The Cobar Sound Chapel can be viewed from the outside at any time.
